About Department of Mechanical Engineering


Objective-The Mechanical Engineering Department, established in the academic year 2007-2008, offers comprehensive programs in B.Tech and M.Tech in Heat Power Engineering. The department is committed to delivering high-quality education, fostering innovative research, and promoting technological advancements in areas such as thermal engineering, fluid mechanics, energy systems, and mechanical design. With state-of-the-art laboratories, modern research facilities, and a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, the department provides a holistic learning environment. It emphasizes a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application, encouraging industry collaboration, student research projects, and entrepreneurial initiatives to prepare students for successful careers in academia and the engineering industry.

Mission: Our mission is to provide students with a sound mechanical engineering education , advance the understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles with best technical skills and problem solving abilities through teaching, research and outreach training programs.
 
Program Outcomes
 

PO 1 Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and mechanical engineering to solve complex engineering problems.
PO 2 Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex mechanical engineering problems using fundamental principles.
PO 3 Design solutions for complex mechanical systems and processes that meet specified needs with consideration for public health, safety, and environmental concerns.
PO 4 Use research-based knowledge and methodologies to conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5 Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools for mechanical engineering tasks while understanding their limitations.
PO 6  Apply contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and understand the engineer’s responsibilities in professional practice.
PO 7 Understand the impact of mechanical engineering solutions in environmental contexts and the need for sustainable development.
PO 8  Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities in engineering practices.
PO 9 Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary settings.
PO 10  Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and society through reports, documentation, and presentations.
PO 11  Demonstrate knowledge of engineering and management principles to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
PO 12  Recognize the need for and engage in lifelong learning to adapt to technological advancements and contemporary issues.

Mechanical Engineering Students Association” (MESA) work to build technical proficiency along with inventive skills and career progression opportunities for mechanical engineering students. MESA operates as a student institution where members improve their technical skills alongside their leadership capabilities and teamwork expertise through scheduled activities.
MESA creates links between classroom curriculum and industrial expectations by conducting workshops along with factory visits and cultural events and research seminars together with professional competitions. The committee promotes team-based activities and knowledge exchanges between students and supports them in tracking developing technologies across the mechanical engineering discipline.
MESA delivers key experiences which develop problem-solving ability and career-preparation for successful careers in engineering.
